EQUIPMENT

We carried all our overnight equipment up to Corie Banachdich (766m) prior to the attempt of the traverse of the ridge. We used our Grivel Light rucksacks togehter with our Grivel Manus which we left with the tent, sleeping bags, food etc.  We were able to reduce the amount we carried, ompared to previous attempts,  and our rucksacks were probably around 11kg once we had filled up with 3l of water from Coie a Ghrunnda. On this occasion the night time weather was realtively mild and, in the event, we did not use all the clothing we took with us. We stashed food for the second day of our expidition as well as for our overnight camp. We were able to use a mobile phone (Vodafone) from most parts of the ridge to keep in touch.
